Mentor Commitment & Reliability Policy
Last updated 25 July 2026Version 1.0
SarthiLink is built on trust. This policy sets out, in plain terms, how we protect students and hold mentors accountable — so you know exactly what to expect before you book. The rules below are the same for every mentor and are enforced automatically by the platform.
Our commitment
Verified Mentors
Every mentor's identity and credentials are reviewed before they can take a single session.
Timely Sessions
Mentors are held to attendance standards, with a short grace period and presence tracking on every booking.
Fair Rescheduling
A mentor can propose new times — but only with your approval, and within strict monthly limits.
Student-First Protection
If a mentor misses a confirmed session, you receive a 100% refund. You never bear the cost of a no-show.
Reliable Marketplace
Reliability shapes profile visibility and search ranking, so dependable mentors rise to the top.
Mentor Reliability Policy
The complete set of rules that govern mentor-initiated reschedules and no-shows:
- Maximum 2 mentor-initiated reschedules per calendar month
- Maximum 1 reschedule per booking
- Every reschedule requires your approval — the mentor proposes times, you decide
- 100% refund for a confirmed mentor no-show
- Mentors bear the platform commission for a confirmed no-show
- No payout is released to a mentor for a no-show
- Reliability affects a mentor's profile visibility and search ranking
- A grace period, dispute process, and admin review keep every case fair
Rescheduling
A mentor may need to move a session occasionally. When they do, they propose two to five alternative times and you choose — the session only moves once you accept. To keep this fair, each mentor is limited to a set number of reschedules per calendar month, and any single booking can be mentor-rescheduled only once. Staying within these limits carries no penalty; rescheduling is a normal part of the service, not misconduct. See the Booking & Rescheduling Policy for timing details.
Mentor no-shows
If a mentor fails to attend a confirmed session, you are made whole: you receive a 100% refund of the session fee, and no payout is released to the mentor. To keep this fair to everyone, a no-show is confirmed only after a short grace period and a review of attendance signals — and either party can raise a dispute for admin review. A confirmed no-show also means the mentor bears the platform commission for that booking. Refund mechanics follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Reliability and visibility
Consistent reliability is rewarded. A mentor's track record influences their visibility on the homepage and their position in search — dependable mentors surface higher, while repeated no-shows reduce visibility. Reliability is assessed from objective signals (attendance, no-shows, and how reschedules are handled), and a mentor's internal reliability score is never shown publicly.
Fairness and disputes
Every accountability measure is balanced by a fair process: a grace period before any no-show is recorded, attendance evidence, and admin review where there is a genuine dispute (for example, a technical failure). If you believe a case was handled incorrectly, contact us at support@sarthilink.com and we will investigate. See the Dispute Resolution Policy.
For students
A student-focused summary of these protections is available in the Student Protection Policy.
