What Is UPSC Mentorship?

UPSC mentorship is one-to-one guidance from someone who has been through the examination process themselves or has guided aspirants through it. Rather than delivering the same material to everyone, a mentor works from your preparation — what you have covered, where you are struggling, and what you are trying to decide next.

While courses provide structured content for many students at once, mentorship gives you individual guidance based on your own goals and questions. What that guidance covers depends on the mentor you choose: each one sets their own expertise, services and availability on SarthiLink™, so you pick the person whose background fits what you need rather than accepting whoever a batch assigns.

What Can You Get From UPSC Mentorship?

These are the areas aspirants most often look for. Availability differs from mentor to mentor, so each mentor's profile is the place to confirm what they actually offer.

Preparation strategy

Discuss your preparation approach with a mentor whose experience matches what you need.

Study planning

Get help setting priorities and deciding what to focus on next.

Mains preparation

Choose mentors who offer guidance around Mains preparation and answer-writing strategy.

Optional guidance

Find mentors with expertise relevant to your optional subject.

Interview preparation

Choose mentors whose profiles show relevant Interview experience or expertise.

Accountability

Use regular conversations with a suitable mentor to review your preparation and stay focused.

Choose the Mentorship That Fits You

Mentorship on SarthiLink comes in two shapes. You can use either, or start with one and move to the other.

Individual sessions

One-time guidance when you need it

Book a 1-on-1 session with a mentor for a specific question, a preparation decision, a strategy discussion or another piece of focused guidance.

Mentorship Programs

Structured guidance across multiple sessions

Some mentors offer Mentorship Programs for students who want continued guidance across several sessions in a more structured format, planned as one journey rather than booked one at a time.

Explore Mentorship Programs

Some mentors may also offer a Free Discovery Session — a short introductory call with no mentor fee — so you can check the fit before booking paid mentorship.

How to Choose the Right UPSC Mentor

Every mentor sets their own profile, so the comparison is yours to make. These are the things worth weighing.

UPSC experience

Read the mentor's own profile and the examination experience they list there.

Expertise

Consider optional subject, GS areas, Essay, Ethics, Interview and the other expertise a mentor lists.

Preparation stage

Choose someone whose experience is relevant to where you are in your preparation right now.

Language

Choose someone you can communicate comfortably with.

Mentorship format

Decide whether you want a single session or a longer Mentorship Program, where a mentor offers one.

Choose With More Confidence

Some SarthiLink™ mentors carry a Verified badge. It means SarthiLink has reviewed selected documents submitted by that mentor against the claims on their profile. Mentors without the badge are still able to list and take bookings, so it is one signal to weigh alongside a mentor's experience and expertise — not a guarantee of outcomes.

Online UPSC Mentorship That Fits Your Schedule

SarthiLink™ connects you with mentors online, so you are not limited to whoever happens to teach near you. Choose a mentor based on your preparation needs, then pick a time from the availability they have published — your session opens online from your bookings page when it starts.

Availability is set by each mentor, so the times on offer differ from one mentor to the next.

Online mentorship is guidance from a chosen mentor — it is not a recorded course or a classroom batch.
